That she'd left her homeland was a given, really. One wouldn't expect to find one of her type just strutting about some city street out of nowhere. That she looked like a common fennec enabled her to pass as such to the public eye- and Vixy did not dispute such claims. The reason behind her change in location wasn't substantial enough for mention, though she had taken the time to acquire setting-appropriate clothing.
With big boxers up way high and pants down low, shutter shades out the wazoo, bling here and there, Vixy certainly... stood out. She'd no real concept of appropriate attire for the big city, so she simply emulated what she'd seen the hip-and-happening types running around in. This total gangsta continued her meandering with much 'swag' until she came to another corner along the way.
Where was she, anyway? The question hadn't meant anything, initially, but now that the darling had gotten herself good and lost, the city suddenly seemed altogether too big and certainly too noisy.
The fresh princess of 'oh no you didn't' lingered there, looking about curiously for anyone or anything that might provide entertainment.
KARKAT: I GOT A LAB FULL OF HUMANS, A MOUTH FULL OF YELLING, AND A TORTURED PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE FULL OF TOTALLY HYSTERICAL EMOTIONS AND UNAIRED GRIEVANCES AT PRACTICALLY EVERYBODY.
The night-time prowler could rarely be caught out during the day, but when she was, she had plenty of good reasons to back up why she'd left the veil of night in favor for some (awful) daylight.
Currently, her sleek black car was cruising through the city's streets, sticking out from all the cars of the present century like a sore thumb (in Mally's opinion, she considered them to be rather ugly and drab, a severe downgrade from her time).
The people in the city seemed to always be on the move towards unknown destinations; or perhaps none at all. Mally watched them through tinted windows as she drove down yet another street, considering any that looked rich enough to rob, or simply just going home to retire for the day. She didn't get to make a decision right away as something caught her eye. There was someone standing at the corner who was oddly dressed, the pants hung low enough to show of the underwear, large golden jewelry (no doubt fake) and odd glasses.
Mally frowned at such attire and decided to pull over, the engine purring as she coasted towards the curb and came to a stop. The car was shut off and she stepped out, keeping to the shadow cast by the building as she approached the baggy-clothed stranger. She'd seen a few dressed like her, but none so garish. "Hey, doll. You don't seem like you're from around here, are you?"
The calico housecat wandered the streets aimlessly, just looking for another cosy corner to spend the night. She was not originally from the city, more a country girl at heart but easily adjusted to the bustling city life. She was unlike the other strays that inhabited the city-- she maintained herself, had good manners and always made sure to look both ways before crossing the road!
On this occasion, Casie was doing just that. The peach-coloured fish-patterned bandana around her neck flapped in the breeze created by the cars speeding past as she waited for an opportunity to skip across. While she was waiting, Cas noticed a particularly strange individual-- or stranger than usual, at least. Perhaps she could offer some assistance to the possibly lost?
Fluffing out her chest, the calico bounded across the busy street with relative ease, only to be cut off by a large black car. It had surprised her, sending her fur sticking out in all directions and causing her to walk stiffly to the footpath on the other side of the car. Casie mewled softly, eying the one that stepped out of the car with a hint of irritation. With a quick flick and a purr, she settled herself down enough to trot closer to the car before jumping up onto the hood. Of course being careful not to scratch the paint, the cat continued onto the roof of the car before sitting, her fluffy tail curling around her paws.
She could understand what was being said, but chose to stay quiet for now, purring softly instead until she was noticed. Her amber eyes could see the first better now from this position and was unsure what to make of it all. The second wasn't too much better, and Casie only found herself confused as to how to receive them both.
But, nonetheless, she waited patiently and listened intently for the lost one's answer.

Certainly the lurid attire would've not looked odd if it matched Vixy's erstwhile way of life (and if she knew what she was doing), but the vixen responded accordingly, "Ehh, no..." A bell worn about the neck jingled softly as it encountered the other bling and the fox-creature smiled at the feline, "You're really pretty, though, where'd you get all that stuff?"
Movement in the corner of her eye registered and Vixy looked in the cat's direction, sliding the too-big shades down her muzzle as she did so in that typical, 'hey pretty lady' manner. Of course, not having noticed that said feline hadn't accompanied the first, she naturally queried, "Is she yours? What's her name?"
All things considered, Mally and the cat were the least troubling monstrosities that Vix could've come across in her travels. What with vampires and shark people running about and actual gangstas lookin' like fools with their pants on the ground, the intervention was for the best.

The suited woman flashed a grin as the other girl turned to her the moment she was addressed. "Oh, this? Well.. from a completely different century, but I'm sure we can find you a snazzy suit like it. I'm not sure you'd do well in this city with that get-up." Mally pointed out as she eyed the newcomer up and down. When her glowing eyes returned to the other's face, she noted that the gal's gaze had been averted to something else.
"What?" The panther woman replied quizzically and turned to see what it was that had drawn the girl's attention. It was a small calico cat sitting atop a black car; it took Mally a few minutes to register that it was her car that the feline was sitting on.
"Oh, no no no. Get off of my car before you scratch it!" Mally rushed over, flapping her hands to shoo the cat off of her car. If and when she'd managed to remove it, she would lean over and inspect the paint. Satisfied that it had been left unmarked, she would saunter back over towards the fennec, and the cat if it hadn't run off. If it had remained, she'd try to give the little lady a friendly pat on the head; the panther did like cats, she really did, but her car was off limits to all but her.

BOOOOOM!!
Out of apparently nowhere, a rocket with an angry grin painted in smashed into one of the city buildings above, sending shards of stone and glass flying in the impact, said structure still standing, albeit with a sizable crater in the side, and the roar of the explosion drowned out by loud, raucous laughter that was half a roar. A huge, muscly figure dropped in front of the car, huge red wings folding back into nothingness as he hit the ground, clad in a classy prohibition-era pinstripe suit, shiny gold stripes on classy black fabric, complete with a matching fedora with golden band (with holes cut out for the liger demon's horns, of course) and golden tie.
The deep voiced, maniacal laughter died out as the madman spotted a familiar face and body, although he noticed the tail first. "Ah, there you are, I've been looking for you Ma-" He abruptly cut himself off when he spied the rather unfortunately dressed fennec, grinning wide to expose a mouthful of stained yellow razors. "Oh, that is certainly inappropriate attire, you can't run from people who are out to kill you in THAT," he picked in a rather growly voice, tossing the rocket launcher in his arms carelessly behind him with nary a thought, and a little chuckle, where it landed somewhere past the car. "And it's also pretty ugly, let me put you out of your misery, you poor wretch." A clawed hand was thrust inside a pinstriped jacket, possibly for a gun.

Casie mewled softly once she was noticed by the fennec, tail flicking eagerly at making some friends. Although, her ears quickly pinned back as the other smartly-dressed woman approached her and shooed her off the car. Cas didn't make any objections, leaping off the car and onto the ground with ease. She allowed the little pat on the head, rubbing up against the woman's leg before trotting over and doing the same to the fennec.
"I would never scratch your car, miss." Casie stated in a slight accent, winding herself around Vixy's legs for attention. She watched as the owner of the car inspected where she had been sitting, raising her head proudly with a light purr as she discovered it was left unscratched, just like the calico had said. She was about to say as much when there was a loud sound, which startled her. Cas hissed-- something she rarely did-- and crouched between the fennec's feet as another strangely dressed individual made himself apparent.
She stayed crouched there while the man spoke, her fur once again fluffing up. "I don't think there's any need for.. trouble here, sir." She finally spoke up, raising herself into a sitting position and a frown on her feline face if one looked close enough. She disliked violence, and there was no need to harm the poor soul who was obviously lost in such a big city. Maybe they were like herself, from another sort of place?
The calico glanced up at both the fennec and the panther woman for some backup. It had almost seemed like the man had known the one who owned the flashy car-- if it wasn't obvious that they were dressed similarly as well. She kept her questions to herself, however. There was another place and another time for that.
That she'd not have done too well dressed as she was came as news to Vixy, though she watched the panther lady appropriately, frowning slightly at the cat's treatment.
Once Casie came over, however, and began rubbing against the fox's legs, things were as good as signed and delivered- she had to have this precious baby as her very own kitty! Much petting was allowed the feline prior to the impact of the rocket, which caused Vi to stumble only slightly before she realized her presence was offering the little one safety.
The newcomer's threat registered and her reaction was a given. Casie new enough in Vixy's life to be momentarily forgotten, the fox half-stumbled, half-ran behind Mally for protection, pushing her forward, "No, no, no, no, no, no, no."
As such, there were many mumbled apologies for touching Mal without permission, but the fox continued her freaking out and other such rambling before noting that the feline had been left unattended between the group. Flopping to the ground, Vixy crawled back on her hands and knees, wrapping herself around the kitty accordingly, "Just don't hurt my kitty..."

Whatever the suited panther was about to say next was lost as the small calico cat responded after she'd shooed it off of her car. Not with mewls, but actual words. Mally stared down at the cat for a moment, her eyes widening a little. "Wow, you can talk? You're probably the first little cat that I've met that can talk." She said, crouching down and giving Casie a few more, gentle pets.
The delight of the discovery of a talking cat, and the general peace, was quickly disrupted as the panther woman heard an explosion overhead, mingling with the bell-like shattering of windows and a few stony clunks as debris landed around them. A few smaller shards that landed on her hat were promptly wiped off and Mally turned when she heard a louder thump nearby and a familiar voice.
It was Malthas.
Mally would shoot an icy glare his way when he spoke of killing the oddly dressed fennec, which prompted the mentioned female to panic and hide behind her. She gave no notice to the apologies, her gaze shifting for a moment from Malthas as he flung his rocket launcher behind him, nearly hitting her car. "Hey! You'd better watch where you throw things, because if you put a single dent in my baby I'm gonna kick you so hard in the nuts." Mally snapped in response, leaning on one hip with her hands placed firmly on both.
"And ya better keep your hands to yourself, ya brute! This little lady's a new friend of mine." The suited lady said, gesturing to the fennec, who was now curled around the calico. "Besides, what the hell are you doing around here anyway? I can't seem to go anywhere without you showing up and disturbin' the peace."

Grinned at all of the responses to his actions. Carameline claws withdrew from beneath golden lapel to reveal a strange black plastic and steel box with a glass bulb and a lens, that is to say, he pulled out what looked like an old-timey camera with a computer screen glued to the back, ignoring the panther's questioning of his reasons for being here.
"Relax, relax, it's just a camera," he would respond with a chuckle. There was a flash and a whirr as he took a picture of the poorly dressed female and her new cat, and the massive male turned around, putting his back to the others as he muttered to himself and fiddled with the device. "Pantsuit? No... Sequin Jumpsuit? Ha, no..."
He continued in this vain for some time, muttering to himself about clothing styles and pressing buttons, until, apparently he decided he didn't have a clue what to do with this fashion disaster. "Mally, c'mere, I have a question." Assuming she came over like he asked, he would lower the screen so she could see what was on it, which was a depiction of the fennec in 1930s garb, he pushed a button and it switched to a separate outfit. "What do you think, the flapper dress or the denim suit?" Of course, if she refused to come over, he would become rather annoyed, responding angrily with "If you won't help me help your new friend, I guess I'll go sharpen my claws on your automobile."

The southern belle was about ready to be trampled by this monster of a man (there were certainly some strange folk in the city), just continuing to crouch down on the pavement and waiting the apparently inevitable doom. The calico hardly noticed when her new found fox friend no longer provided shelter, her amber eyes instead locked on the demon. However, when she heard the word 'camera' she completely relaxed. Casie attempted to smooth down her long fur, only finding she couldn't because of a large mass wrapped around her. She mewled softly as she realised it was the fennec, rubbing up against Vixy. "'M alight. Jus' scared me a little."
She paid little attention attention to the new stranger, instead poking her head through some opening provided by the fennec to answer the panther woman's previous question. "Of course. We can all talk where I come from." Cas meowed gently, her light accent only coming through on her vowels. She watched the exchange between the one known as Mally, a nice name she decided, and the male. Deciding she had nothing else to say to them, the cat turned her attention back to Vixy.
"My name is Casie," she provided, assuming it would be necessary if the other female decided she was now her owner. Of course, the calico didn't mind in the least-- welcomed it even. It would be much more enjoyable to travel around with a friend than by herself! "You have some big ears there."
She closed her eyes and waited for the end all drama and minimal bad acting before perking up at the mention of a camera, instead of a weapon of some type. Was this guy for real? Vixy had been about to ponder such events further when Casie commented and the fox pulled away appropriately, offering a gentle scratch behind the ears, "Ooh, alright. As long as you're okay!"
Just as Cas did, she eyed the strange pair before resuming communication with her feral friend, responding in kind, "I'm Vixy-- haha, of course they're big, I hear things that a lot of people can't, so they need to be big to pick up those kinds of sounds." She smiled cheerfully, "It's hard for people to sneak up on me, but I'll admit that I didn't hear that guy coming; I wasn't really paying attention."
The ending sounded a bit apologetic, as if Vi wished to take back her inability to forewarn everyone to the stranger's arrival, though the dampened mood lasted only a few moments longer. Rising, she hiked up her pants and started forward, moving so that she could peek at the screen, "I like the suit..." The dress was alright, but it didn't really seem to fit her-- but what'd she know? A few minutes prior, she'd thought all this bling was how things went.
KARKAT: I GOT A LAB FULL OF HUMANS, A MOUTH FULL OF YELLING, AND A TORTURED PSYCHOLOGICAL PROFILE FULL OF TOTALLY HYSTERICAL EMOTIONS AND UNAIRED GRIEVANCES AT PRACTICALLY EVERYBODY.
The gal decided to cast Malthas one more little glare at his interruption before she turned back to the little cat and the fennec. Casie's response had quickly grabbed her attention and Mally couldn't help but stand there and wonder what it would be like to be surrounded by little, talking cats. It was a cute image, one that was quickly destroyed as Malthas's angry voice broke through it.
Mally whipped towards him and stalked over angrily to give him a punch to the shoulder, if he didn't avoid the blow. "Do that and I'll blow up everything you've ever made, buddy." The panther snapped. "Now what the hell is it that you want me to look at?" She questioned, reaching forward to try to jerk the camera towards her so that she could see the screen.
Mally eyed what was on it and looked thoughtful, shrugging. The lady moved aside when Vixy approached and the panther woman gestured at her. "Well, why ask me? Let her decide what she wants." The dark feline soon said to Malthas and stepped back to put herself between the tiger demon and her car.
Huffed at the pantheress's response to his asking for help. "You know," he shot back. "If you weren't not paying attention, I wouldn't have to threaten your lovely car, but you know I don't mean it." He furrowed his brow at her even more unhelpful response. "Well then..." The liger clicked a button on the 'camera' and turned back to the little vixen.
"Denim suit it is," he announced, stuffing the little device into his coat and turning around, facing away from the lot of them. A clawed hand was raised, and fingers were snapped, resulting in the male vanishing in a puff of oily black smoke that smelled strongly of cinnamon and pizza.
He was gone for several minutes, leaving the three to themselves again, and when he returned, it was in a sudden puff of the same thick smoke, this time scented like mint and gasoline. He was also carrying a long, flat, pink gift box, tied up with a yellow bow ribbon, and with a giant tag on it that read 'Fox Girl', which he presented to the fennec with a flourish. "Ta-da, your new duds, I hope you don't mind if I took a little liberty with the design." If she didn't take the box, it would soon be dropped on the ground, and inside she would find a grey denim suit tailored to her size that had apparently been liberally sprinkled with rainbow glitter. Also, for whatever reason, there were shiny chrome plates sewn into the knees and elbows.
Casie mewled softly as she started talking with Vixy. The fox-creature was nice, and the calico too an immediately liking to her. She purred as she was scratched behind the ears, her attention flicking from the fox to the other two talking nearby. However, as Vixy continued, her amber eyes flickered back, a purr still rumbling in her throat. She flickered her own ears and tail, which seemed a lot smaller in comparison.
Before Vixy moved away to look at the camera the male was holding, Casie gently made her way up the fennec's shoulder and settled herself between the two huge ears. Surprisingly, it was just the right size for a little cat like herself and the calico flickered the tip of her tail happily. This way, she could see everything too instead of just being on the ground. It also became apparently to her that Mally's car was indeed.. very special to her and Casie made a mental note not to sit on her car again like she had before.
The belle gazed down at the image on the camera, kneading her paws a little as he mewed. "I like that one too." She made a small noise of surprise as Malthas disappeared, looking at Mally questioningly-- since the two seemed to know each other and figured she could provide an explanation. "How does he do that? I have never seen magic before," Cas mewled softly from atop Vixy's head.
However, it was only a short period of time before the male returned and the cat wiggled excitedly at the box, which she assumed would contain new clothes. She, herself, only wore a loose bandana around her neck that came from her home in Georgia, but it would be subject to change if offered something else. "Try it on, Vi."
